Location: Liverpool

Pay: £12.55 - £13.55 ph, £60 sleep-in

Lavoro Care are looking for experienced, enthusiastic, and passionate individuals to join our dedicated team of Complex Needs Support Workers.

The nature of this role is to support young people within a residential home who display’s emotional and behavioural difficulties, mild learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. As a member of our children’s team, you will be passionate about making a difference to a child’s life, striving for the best outcomes of those in your care.

Overview of the roles and responsibilities:

-          Work in a team environment at all times to provide care and support to the young person 

-          Administer medication to the young person if required 

-          Promote independence and motivate the young person to engage in key worker sessions and therapeutic activities 

-          Support the young person with domestic duties 

-          Listen, and support young person at all times 

-          Take genuine interest in young persons hobbies and what they enjoy doing

-          Utilise de-escalation techniques where required

Requirements of the ideal candidate:

-          Driving licence is essential

-          Have a minimum of 12 months experience of working with young people / children with Learning Disabilities, Mental Health Difficulties and Emotional, Social and Behavioural Difficulties

-          Have a natural ability to build positive relationships with young people and earn their trust

-          Be able to manage challenging situations and difficult behaviours such as swearing, aggression, shutdowns, self-harm and conflict resolution

-          Be confident in utilising safe holds and restraints where necessary

-          Competent working with IT systems

-          Possess a can-do and compassionate attitude
