Children’s Activity Support Worker 

Area: North Wales

Pay: £270 per day, minimum

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team, working within Outward-bound Centres. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing assistance and care to children, ensuring their safety and well-being while fostering their development. This position requires strong communication skills, a caring attitude, and the ability to work collaboratively with families and other professionals.

Responsibilities

  • You will be compassionate, resilient and committee to being a positive role model. Confident working within the outdoors whilst dealing with challenging behaviour.
  • Supporting every young person to feel valued and safe, ensuring their physical, emotional, and everyday needs are met
  • To provide a consistent, high-quality service that supports the assessed needs of the residents and to advocate for their wellbeing. This will include a level of written work completing daily records and contributing to reports and assessments

Through activities, help young people develop self-esteem, a feeling of safety and personal strategies to deal with unhelpful behaviour and thoughts, and ultimately to achieve their full potential Support or lead, where appropriate, a wide range of activities/daily tasks

Experience

  • Previous experience working with children is essential, ideally in a support or childcare role.
  • A valid UK driving licence
  • Familiarity with creating and implementing care plans is advantageous
  • Strong communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with children and families
